November 13, 2016: Mt. Monadnock

One of my coworkers, Kathie, has wanted to hike Mt. Monadnock for a long time. She mentioned this to another one of our coworkers a few weeks ago, who suggested she ask me to go along with her.

We had a beautiful day for a hike! Clear skies, a little chilly but not too cold, with the only drawback being the high winds at the summit and on some open slabs a little below it.

There are a ton of trails to the summit of Mt. Monadnock. We chose the most direct routes up and down: White Dot trail up, which is rather steep in certain areas with some boulder scrambles and slab ledges. Coming down, we opted for the White Cross trail, which is a less-steep bypass running relatively parallel to White Dot.

Not too many pictures today due to the wind and rockiness/steepness of the trail.
